instrument
of
African
origin
that
become
popular
in
Brazil

It
consists
of a
hand-woven
reed
basket
with a
hard
gourd
skin
bottom
filled
with
seeds
.
When
shaken
it
produces
a
lively
sound
. This
particular
caxixi
comes
from
Gambia
in
West
Africa
.
