This
pair

ukiyo-e
depict

winter
scene
in
which
a
woman
kneels
by a
barefoot
girl
while
a
man
stands
with an
umbrella
extended
over
the
heads
of the
girl
and
woman
while
raising
his
kimono
with the
other
. He
is
gazing
skyward
with an
angry
expression
on his
face
.
Yakusha-e
are
woodblocks
prints
of
kabuki
actors
,
particularly
those
done
in the
ukiyo-e
style
. The
term
usually
applies
to
portraits
of
single
actors
or
pairs
, but
prints
of
kabuki
scenes
and
other
elements
of the
theater
world
were
closely
related
. These
