Davis Sr. in Ramitelli, Italy. the photograph was taken during a visit by Generals Ira C. Eaker, commander-in-chief of the Mediterranean Allied Air Forces; Nathan Twining, commanding officer of the 15th Air Force; Benjamin O. Davis Sr., and Dean Strother, commanding officer of the 15th FC for a Distinguished Flying Cross award ceremony. A C-47 is visible in the background.
