Black and white photograph of Elwood T. Driver, 99th Fighter Squadron fighter pilot and flight leader, seated on a cluster of bombs in Licata, Sicily. According to the Arlington National Cemetery website, by the end of World War II, Driver had completed 123 combat missions. Following a twenty-year career in the Air Force he served, among other things, as the Vice Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board. |
